What is National Networking Week?
National Networking Week - Monday 6 to Friday 10 August 2012
AIM National Networking Week is an annual initiative bringing focus to the importance of peer to peer learning through networking, personal and business development and a general contribution to the leadership landscape in Australia.
National Networking Week is held in the first full week of August with the objectives of:
- Promoting the value of peer to peer networking and its role in career enhancement
- Educating the management community about the concept of networking and its positive role in business
- Providing a forum for AIM members and the larger AIM community to widen the networks and spheres of influence
A range of networking events and activities will be hosted around the country including invitation only boardroom luncheons for senior executives, young professional receptions, AIM Members Networking events and networking authors speaking to a special interest group.
National Networking Week Ambassador
Each year, AIM invites an innovative networker of international standing to be the National Networking Week Ambassador. In 2012, the NNW Ambassador is Leading networking strategist, business development consultant and international speaker Liz Lynch. She's the author of Smart Networking: Attract a Following In Person & Online, and has appeared on CNN, ABC News, Fox Business News, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes.com, CNBC.com and BusinessWeek.com.
Previous NNW Ambassadors have included Devora Zack whose acclaimed book Networking for People Who Hate Networking has supported managers and leaders to increase their networking capability and Scott Ginsberg aka the Name Tag Guy.

Networking is connecting with others without the need for immediate gain. It is a proactive investment in the future aimed at building a relationship with another well before assistance or support is sought.
