Toowoomba Excellence Awards winners announced
Two inspiring local leaders have been named the best in Toowoomba at the Australian Institute of Management’s annual Excellence Awards.
Chief Executive Officer at the Toowoomba Turf Club, Blair Odgers has been named the Not for Profit Manager of the Year.
Mr Odgers took the reins of the TTC in April 2014 and in this short period has developed a robust strategic framework that will ensure prosperous growth for the region’s racing industry into the future.
Rebecca McSwiney has been named the Young Manager of the Year for her outstanding work at the University of Southern Queensland.
As the Online Marketing Manager, Rebecca oversees the award winning USQ content strategy and USQ social media portfolio.
She has developed and launched the USQ Social Hub, an Australian University first as well as an interactive fortnightly magazine, HeyU all while leading a team of twenty staff.
Now into their 23rd year, the AIM Excellence Awards have been won by some of Australia’s most successful business identities in the past.
Past winners and finalists include international employment entrepreneur Therese Rein, Domino’s Pizza General Manager Don Meij and wotif.com founder Graeme Wood.
With categories ranging from Young Manager of the Year through to Not for Profit Manager of the Year, the awards are designed to provide coverage for leaders from every size of organisation and at any stage of their career.
The winners of the Toowoomba Excellence Awards will now have an opportunity to vie for the Queensland Excellence Awards in Brisbane next Friday 11 September.
The National Excellence Awards Finals will be taking place at a glittering awards ceremony being held in Melbourne on October 16.
