Manage People

This course examines the importance of managing the performance of people who report to you.

Managing the performance of others is an ongoing cycle of planning with people what they are to achieve, helping them with their day- to- day activities, reviewing their performance, and collaboratively revising what they are doing and helping them to meet required outcomes as well as ensuring they develop as people.

The key component in the effective management of people and of people performing as required is ‘you’. You need to help your staff, you need to help each team member to plan, to know what they are to achieve. You may need to be a disciplinarian when necessary, a role model, a comforter, a cajoler, a manager and a leader. Most importantly if you want people to be effective members of your team you need to be the coach, and chief supporter of your team members
