Strategic Risk Management

Overview

This program covers the development, implementation and evaluation of a risk management plan for the organisation as part of its strategic plan. It incorporates an assessment of all potential risks facing the organisation and the development of strategies and plans to mitigate all risk situations through elimination, isolation and protection. This program is not about becoming an expert in every facet of Risk Management planning and implementation, but rather a strategic focus.

Participants will receive a copy of Australian Standard 4360 Risk Management.

Senior and middle managers who wish to extend their knowledge and experience in the field of managing risk strategically.

Content

  • Introduction and overview of risk management as part of the strategic plan for the modern organisation
  • Policies and procedures for effective risk management including:– Conduct a risk audit– Develop a risk register– Develop policies, procedures and training for the organisation
  • Access external specialist risk management consultants to facilitate the development of the risk management program
  • Methods for implementing and monitoring the risk management plan
  • Methods for continually evaluating and improving the risk management plan, policies and procedures.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the strategic importance to the organisation of developing a risk management plan which incorporates the policies and procedures for managing risk
  • Implement the risk management plan
