Just when you thought it couldn’t get any bigger, AIM’s legendary International Women’s Day Debate has gone to a new level.

A must-do event on the Brisbane corporate calendar for the past 18 years, the IWD Debate will this year adopt a national format with events being held in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne in the first week of March.

The 2015 topic of “Do Women Need to Make Hard Choices to Get Ahead?” will undoubtedly lead to some fascinating insights and spark heated on-stage discussion.

As per previous years, the debaters are all highly successful women in their own fields and this year AIM is extending the humorous battle to Sydney and Melbourne.

Mamamia.com Editor in Chief Jamila Rizvi and Bryce Corbett Executive Editor of the Australian Women’s Weekly are the first high-profile debaters locked in for Sydney.

Popular Victorian writer and Herald Sun columnist Wendy Tuohy will lead the Melbourne debate along with Emmy award-winning foreign correspondent, author and commentator Sara James.

Professor Sarah Derrington, the first female Head of School and Dean of Law at University of Queensland and Miriam Dwyer, CEO of the Gallipoli Medical Research Foundation are confirmed for Brisbane.

A host of successful female executives and media personalities will continue to be announced over the coming weeks meaning tickets are sure to sell quickly.

AIM’s Queensland event is again expected to attract more than 1300 people to the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on Friday 6 March.

The Sydney debate will be held at Doltone House, Hyde Park on Wednesday 4 March and the Melbourne event will be held on the same day at Maia, Harbour Esplanade Docklands.

The events include a sumptuous three-course meal, invaluable networking opportunities and the chance to support deserving charities chosen by the debaters.

Members are encouraged to book early for these not to be missed events.
