New YMAB Chair and Deputy Chair AIM to keep the ball rolling

Rob Soros AFAIM and Kimberley Britt AFAIM have recently been appointed as the Chair and Deputy Chair respectively of the prestigious Australian Institute of Management Young Manager Advisory Board (YMAB).

Established in 2012, the YMAB brings together a dynamic, diverse and passionate group of outstanding next-generation managers from across the country to engage with and enhance the lives of young managers while encouraging them to voice their opinions on the profession and challenges of management.

Mr Soros is currently a Consultant at Futureye, an international management consultancy firm and has extensive experience in the public relations field and Ms Britt is an experienced Project Manager at Airservices Australia with an extensive background in communication and change management.

Ms Britt was appointed to the AIM Young Manager Advisory Board as the first representative from the ACT/NSW region and has managed a number of large projects in her career ranging from critical aviation infrastructure to significant organisational change initiatives.

“I am honoured to be appointed Deputy Chair of the YMAB and I look forward to the opportunity to work with the other Board Members and AIM leadership on many of the exciting initiatives we have on the horizon,” Ms Britt said

“Obviously there has already been some great progress made and Rob and I would like to build on that by reinvigorating the current board and keeping that momentum going.

“There are some fantastic initiatives such as the AIM30 that we’re looking forward to kicking off again for 2015 and following the national merger there are now more opportunities to engage with young managers right around Australia.

“One of the challenges for recruiting younger members to AIM has been the competition from other professional bodies that target smaller subsets of professions while management is a much broader base of potential members.

“Part of our role will be to look at how we can clearly position our value proposition to younger members in terms of what we can provide that other professional bodies can’t.”

After spending time with Edelman, one of the largest PR companies in the world, Mr Soros has also spent time in Shanghai, China working on campaigns for a variety of high profile clients such as Miss California.
