The DIBP Training and Assessment Programme

The Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) is committed to supporting the development of its staff in alignment with the Department’s professional development strategy. As part of this commitment, we have partnered with the Australian Institute of Management (AIM) to increase our learning and development professional standards by ensuring staff in the learning and development function obtain the relevant accredited industry qualifications for their role.

What is the DIBP Training and Assessment Programme?

The L&D Strategy commits to progressing the learning maturity of the Department. As part of our work to develop a high-performing and professional learning and development workforce, the Department has partnered with AIM to deliver the following:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110)
  • Diploma of Training Design and Development (TAE50211)

The DIBP Training and Assessment Programme is an opportunity not only to develop your skills and knowledge in line with your professional development goals, but also to grow capability throughout the Department in a high quality learning environment.

Each qualification is available in a range of modes, including:

  • Instructor-led learning (in most regional locations)
  • eLearning (Certificate IV only)
  • Assessment only pathway (i.e. recognition of prior learning or current competency)
  • Publically scheduled session

The DIBP Training and Assessment Programme is not centrally funded. The cost per qualification or module varies depending on mode; from $2,472 (online) and $3,377 (10 days face-to-face) for the TAE40110 to $3,443 (10 days face-to-face) for the TAE50211.

Who is it for?

The DIBP Training and Assessment Programme is available to any business area responsible to deliver and assess training either within their area or throughout the Department.

The programme may also be made available to individuals where the qualification is identified in your Performance and Development Agreement.
