AIM launches $2 million fund with
long term focus on upskilling
In order to support the development of Australia’s workforce long term, AIM has launched the COVID Stimulus Fund. This fund can be used by eligible students and organisations to:
- Apply a contribution towards tuition fees for AIM Vocational Qualifications capped at:
- $3,200 for online Diplomas
- $2,000 for online Certificate IVs
- Provide an additional 2 training seats at no cost to organisations who book in 3 or more employees to an AIM short course
This fund has started with an initial $2 million investment from AIM, divided into territory and state-based commitments as follows:
Australian Capital Territory $100,000 | South Australia $250,000 |
New South Wales $400,000 | Tasmania $150,000 |
Northern Territory $200,000 | Victoria $400,000 |
Queensland $300,000 | Western Australia $200,000 |
This fund can be applied to retrain people currently not employed, facing reduced hours, or in one of the following impacted industries:

Automotive | Banking and Finance | Insurance |
Events and Recreation | FMCG | Education |
Journalism | Real Estate | Not-for-Profit Organisations |
Government | Sporting Organisations | Restaurants / Hospitality |
Telecommunications | Tourism | Technological Services |
Individuals or businesses not in the aforementioned list will be assessed on a case by case basis and approved through a committee application.
Qualifications:
AIM’s suite of Vocational Qualifications can be studied 100% online, provide students with practical knowledge that is highly relevant to their workplace, and enable immediate impact.
Short Courses:
AIM offers a marketleading suite of more than 100 short courses. Study in a virtual classroom, online and on-demand, or in socially responsible on-campus courses.
*Fairness clause – limit of 3 initial approvals per organisation, additional requests to be approved by AIM Committee.
