The Australian Institute of Management introduces Digital Skills Portfolio to help the workforce build digital capability
The Australian Institute of Management (AIM) has launched its new Digital Skills Portfolio, delivering short courses that help professionals and organisations thrive in the digital workplace.
Formerly known as the Faculty of Technology, the Digital Skills Portfolio provides accessible short courses in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), data, cybersecurity, and user experience (UX). Each course has been designed for professionals in non-technical roles, simplifying complex topics into clear, practical skills that can be applied immediately. By combining digital knowledge with problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaboration, AIM equips individuals and teams with the tools to succeed in today’s workplace and prepare for tomorrow.
The launch responds to rising demand for digital capability. The Australian Government’s National AI Capability Plan (2024) highlights the need to uplift AI skills across the workforce. The World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Report 2025 identifies digital transformation as a top driver of business change, with 60% of employers citing digital access as critical to growth.

Martin Mercer, CEO of AIM, said the Digital Skills Portfolio builds on AIM’s long-standing legacy of supporting the Australian workforce through change.
“For more than 80 years, AIM has helped professionals and organisations adapt and thrive. The Digital Skills Portfolio builds on this heritage by giving today’s workforce the knowledge and confidence to use AI and digital tools in real workplace contexts. It is about empowering people to apply what they learn the very next day.”
