FAQs

Finance for Non-Finance Managers (Online) is a self-paced AIM online short course that provides a practical guide to analysing financial data and understanding the implications of financial performance. It covers all aspects of financial management from planning through to budget review and reporting on financial outcomes, entirely on your own schedule. It is ideal for managers with responsibility for planning, managing and reporting on budgets and financial indicators, or those who want to deepen their knowledge of business finance, without needing to attend a scheduled classroom session. For those who prefer a live, facilitator-led experience, the on-campus Finance for Non-Finance Managers course is also available.

Upon completion you will be better equipped to: analyse previous financial data to establish areas which have generated a profit or loss and establish critical initiatives that will require resources in the next financial cycle; use previous financial data to determine allocations for resources, make informed estimates of new items for inclusion and prepare budgets in accordance with statutory requirements; and ensure the structure and format of financial reports are clear in order to identify significant issues and prepare recommendations to ensure the ongoing financial viability of your organisation.

The course provides up to 6 months of continuous access to AIM's myAIM online learning platform. Study at your own pace, 24/7, on any device. Activities, reflections and case studies throughout the modules link your learning back to your workplace. Inclusions are downloadable course notes and tools and resources. No formal assessment; payment by credit card (Visa, Mastercard or Amex) only. Unique login details are provided to each student and must not be shared. Contact AIM on 1300 658 337 if you would prefer to study this content in an on-campus setting.

Both courses cover the same financial management content, from analysing financial statements through to budget planning, monitoring and reporting. The online version is fully self-paced with up to 6 months of continuous access, ideal if you need to fit study around a demanding schedule. The on-campus Finance for Non-Finance Managers course runs for two full days with live facilitation, peer discussion and real-time expert feedback, and also includes three bonus online short courses valued at $4,125. Choose online for maximum flexibility; choose on-campus for the depth of live, applied learning and the bonus course inclusions.
