FAQs

Leading with Emotional Intelligence is a two-day AIM short course that develops the self-awareness and interpersonal skills that underpin effective leadership in today's complex and people-intensive work environments. It is designed for managers and leaders who want to understand how their emotions influence their leadership behaviour, and how to leverage emotional intelligence to build trust, manage relationships, resolve conflict and bring out the best in their people.

Upon completion you will be able to: recognise and understand your own emotions and how they affect your behaviour, decisions and relationships as a leader; manage emotional responses under pressure to maintain effectiveness and composure in challenging situations; read the emotional dynamics of your team and respond with empathy and appropriate action; use emotional intelligence to motivate, inspire and influence others toward shared goals; and build a leadership style that is consistently emotionally intelligent, creating psychological safety, productive relationships and a high-trust team culture.

Two days (9:00 am–5:00 pm each day) on campus in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Canberra, or as a live virtual classroom (9:00 am–5:00 pm AEDT/AEST). Closed cohort in-house delivery is also available.

An industry-recognised AIM digital certificate of attainment to print or share electronically on LinkedIn and other professional platforms. Leading with Emotional Intelligence is a natural companion to People Leadership and Coaching for High Performance, the three courses together build a comprehensive and deeply human-centred leadership capability.
