Train the Trainer

Train the Trainer is a three-day AIM short course that develops the skills and knowledge to plan and present interactive and effective training sessions. It is designed for managers, team leaders, subject matter experts and anyone responsible for delivering training within their organisation who wants to improve the quality, engagement and impact of their sessions. You will learn how to plan and organise training delivery, use existing learning resources effectively, structure activities that reinforce new learning, and choose presentation strategies that enhance audience understanding, whether delivering in a classroom, virtually or on the job.

Upon completion you will be able to: conduct individual and group instruction and demonstrate work skills using existing learning resources in a safe and comfortable learning environment; plan, organise and deliver training by interpreting learning program documentation, contextualising existing learning materials and monitoring learner progress; structure learning activities to support and reinforce new learning, build on strengths and identify areas for further development; and choose presentation strategies and techniques that will enhance audience understanding of key concepts and central ideas. Three days (9:00 am–5:00 pm each day) on campus in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Canberra, or as a live virtual classroom (9:00 am–5:00 pm AEDT/AEST). Closed cohort in-house delivery is also available and is particularly effective when your internal trainers will be delivering subject-specific programs to your own staff, AIM can contextualise the content to your organisation's specific training environment, learning materials and industry. 

An industry-recognised AIM digital certificate of attainment to print or share electronically on LinkedIn and other professional platforms, recognising the high standard of learning and skill development you have attained. Train the Trainer is a three-day non-accredited short course designed for internal workplace trainers who need to deliver effective sessions within their organisation, no prior industry experience is required and there is no formal assessment. The TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is an AQF-accredited vocational qualification that takes 12–18 months, requires a minimum of two years' full-time workplace experience and is required by anyone who wants to train and assess accredited programs in a TAFE or RTO context.
